Jock

There was a lot of sickness on board shi. They were cooped up in very unsanitary conditions. They had big caskets of water which had to be kept for 3 months. It took round about 100 days, and it wasn’t often very hygienic. And every so often, they had real accidents. And this one here is about the Cospatrick which caught fire on the way to New Zealand, and 470 people actually died in that fire. There were only three who survived, who were picked up on a lifeboat about a week after the fire. And this is an image that was done at the time of that fire.
