One of our scenes is about a weightlifter who in one motion changes his body from a smaller version to the actor's current body. As he lifts his weights up past his body, that's when the change occurs. How would you do that?
Richard:
I would strongly suggest that you use a body double. You use two people and when you frame your shot, you make sure that the barbells - the weights - are right on the edge of the shot. So, as you lift the bar, the bar makes a perfectly straight line through the middle of shot and the weights are just, just on the edges of shot. Then you have the bodybuilder lift the weights and then you have the skinny guy lift the weights and you do a wipe on the edge of the barbell bar that will reveal the strong guy, that's obviously what he thought of, as the barbell is lifted. That will give a really great effect.

Yep
Richard:
But it's important that the weights are on the edges of the frame so that you don't have problems with the cleanup down the sides.
