…I don’t think we are going to save them. I think we’ve killed them off. I think the polar bears are going to be extinct. You know we’ve taken one of the greatest and most impressive species on the planet, and we’ve made it so that the environment that they have spent hundreds of thousands of years evolving to be perfectly suited to. If you’ve never seen a problem… I mean polar bears are a bit like penguins, in the sense that if you see a penguin on land it looks terribly ungainly, and it wobbles along, but if you see a penguin in the water it is incredible fast moving.
Well the polar bear, its proper Latin name is Ursis Maritimus, it is the sea bear. If you actually see a polar bear in the water, it’s an incredible machine, and they are fantastically evolved for a world that we have now destroyed. I think it is highly unlikely we are going to be able to save the polar bear.
