What do you think would be a good age to start serious writing?

Look whenever (yeah, any age). I remember as a primary school student, writing stuff down, just being very, very excited by the process. As soon as you can, it’s like walking, don’t leave it any longer once you’ve got the knack. So yeah…. having said that the other neat thing to realise is those fantastic writers, and New Zealand is full of them, who at the age of 50, 60, 70, pick up a pen and start. So that’s the other thing, which is really important to remember as you go through life, why not start when Barbara Anderson started so late and such wonderful stuff, so why… so that is the other thing to remember. Just because you haven’t written something magnificent by 19, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Maybe you were busy living?
