How did you become the manager of Books in Homes?

Linda

I was working at AUT at the time and someone approached me from Books in Homes and thought that the role would be a good one to pick up since I already work with a lot of kids on the North Shore area, and sort of instilled the whole idea of education and believing in the talents and gifts that they have. And so I already had worked with kids and then I was also working in an education institution and thought that I’ll be great for the job, and once I was accepted for the role….I’m just enjoying it. It’s a great job to be able to go round and make books available to kids and be able to sort of share the whole world of books with them, and give them the opportunity to be able to succeed. Because you know communicating is the best way to….well if you can’t read then you are not able to communicate so, its really important that you can read, and really important that you get out there and share with your parents.
