Play along to your favourite musicians. If you have any of their CDs put them on the stereo. Learn the music and then try to play along. That is probably the best way for you to get a feeling of being part of a band without the opportunity at school. So listen to lots of different kinds of music. Always listen to it, and learn it, and play along with it. And not only is that a good way to play but it’s a lot of fun. I don’t want to say, oh go by yourself in a practice room and practice for four hours every night after school. That’s not going to be interesting or fun for you, but if you are listening to music you like already, and you learn to play along with it, you will be amazed at how much better you will get in a short time.
