- Question
- Do you believe that a comet killed the dinosaurs?
- Dr Jack Bacon

Yes, actually I believe an asteroid killed the dinosaurs. It hit off of the Yucatan Peninsula, and we actually see the breakup of the soils all around Texas where I live. It has recently been decided that a comet was responsible for the KT extinction, the crustasceous extinction that wiped out 95% of all the life on Earth much earlier than the dinosaurs. These extinction events are very likely all caused by impacts with comets or asteroids and in your life time we have seen Earth size craters from an asteroid hitting Jupiter. We believe these collisions are quite common in all solar systems and probably great drivers of evolution.
