One of the biggest groups, who made a big contribution to New Zealand, were the Poles. Polish…there’s a very good story about the Polish children who came out to New Zealand during the Second World War. They had been kicked out of their home as a result of the German invasion of Poland…let’s see if we can find some stories about them. These are actually 19th century Poles who came out to Taranaki. Quite a Polish community came out to Taranaki in the 19th century, but then they started to come out in a big migration, in 1944 I think it was. And interesting enough this little entry that we did on the Poles has just been translated into Polish and has been presented to the Polish community in Poland. And here’s some of the Polish migrants, if you look at this photograph here, some of the Polish migrants arriving in 1944.
