When you were making FOD did you ever think it was a waste of time?
Vincent Burke

No, I don’t think I ever did. I thought it was frustrating. There were times when I wondered why I decided or agreed to do it in the first place because it was so difficult, and there were so many problems. Not insurmountable problems, but it was just difficulties, and there always is when you’re making television or any kind of endeavour – there’s always problems. But no, I never thought it was a waste of time. I passionately believe or I enjoy the storytelling; I enjoy learning about my own history; I enjoy that immensely. I get great pleasure out of learning about who I am and what’s happened to our community and how it’s being shaped, even to this very day. It’s never a waste of time for me. It was just a huge indulgence actually.

David Filer

Well, I’ve worked in television research for nearly 30 years, and this is probably one of the highlights of my career, so I don’t think I will ever do a series as big or as important as this again.
