- Our history teacher’s been talking a lot about Paul Moon. He got a chance to talk to him recently and learnt a lot of things he’d never known about New Zealand history. Did you find that your research uncovered a lot of things that had been previously unrecorded?

A number of things that are perhaps only known to a few people have come into a wider audience with this series. We found out quite a lot about the personal lives of famous people. We found out a lot of little details about people, most of the bigger history was known, it’s the way that we told it that was perhaps more original.

You’ll find little moments of stories of things that you wouldn’t expect, interesting bits of history, not the big brush stuff, but the small stuff that makes it more personal and endearing, I guess, and more revealing. Once again we had a real problem with the time; there’s only so much you can put in the series. But fascinating stuff though!
