What was the hardest era in New Zealand history to shoot?
David Filer

One of the most difficult episodes to shoot was the one on the wars between Māori and Pākehā in the 1860s and 1870s. It’s still a very controversial period, and it’s still very upsetting to a lot of Māori about what happened in that period. It is a difficult story to tell to be fair to both sides.
