On Wednesday 6 June Adam Newell, Michelin Star chef and Pauline Nunns, tutor and world class pastry chef joined in a panel discussion with two WelTec commis chefs.

They answered questions about careers in cooking during a digital conference with 8 schools from around New Zealand.

Adam Newell

One of only two Michelin Star-rated chefs in New Zealand, Adam Newell is the owner of Wellington restaurant Zibibbo. Adam is a regular chef presenter on TV One’s Good Morning breakfast show and has recently published a collection of innovative recipes that capture his own unique style.

Pauline Nunns

Currently the New Zealand Pastry Chef of the Nation, a patisserie chef and tutor at WelTec’s School of Hospitality, Pauline discovered early in her career a passion for cake decorating and her cakes literally are edible works of art. Pauline is one of six New Zealand chefs making up the New Zealand Culinary Team who competed in the American Culinary Classic in Chicago in May. This event is considered to be one of the world’s top culinary competitions involving teams from 11 other countries.

Our digital conference included two commis chef’s Christina Thompson and Jay Woodhams who are currently undertaking courses through the WelTec Hospitality Programme.
