Digital Conversations commendations
Thoroughly enjoyed talking with you and the excellent Nick. I reckon the Wordspace series has been a great idea.

Many of the students on our panel make movies in their own time using whatever equipment they can borrow. Some belong to the local theatre group in Balfour. They are performers, hence the camera angles and posers, but they gained a lot from this afternoon’s videoconference.
Please pass on our sincere thanks to Briar and Lynda.

Many thanks to the Book Council and your speakers. This is a valuable resource and very much appreciated by a small rural college.

I enjoyed the chance to utilise the technology and look forward to maybe doing this again sometime in the future.

Hoon Hay staff have rung to say what a great opportunity it was for their students to be involved in the videoconference. Their parents raved about how interesting it was too.

Collingwood said it was great and kids got a lot from it. One parent said it was one of the best things she had ever seen and enjoyed learning so much realistic stuff.

We really enjoyed the VC with John and were very grateful for the opportunity (even if it did mean a dash across town!). He was the perfect choice as he is down to earth, articulate and, above all, passionate about his work. My students were awed by his drive and it was fantastic for them for them to ‘meet’ the man behind the music that they had heard. Please pass on our sincere thanks.

A note to let you know that my daughter Alice really enjoyed the Digital Conversations session with John Psathas yesterday. She was with an Onslow group who had studied his work last year. They loved the opportunity to meet the ‘real person’ and ask him about his life as a composer, and also enjoyed being part of a videoconference. A great initiative for young people!

Thank you so much for the fascinating videoconference with Norm Hewitt today. Gosh there were so many schools involved!

I would also like to add my congratulations to those of other schools involved in the Katherine Mansfield Awards videoconference today. Our students loved the experience and several are now writing for the short story competition. What a fantastic opportunity for our ‘out of the way’ schools. Thanks.

Thanks for the opportunity to take part in the videoconference today. It was wonderful and our students got a lot out of it. We have two, possibly three students who intend to put in entries for the Katherine Mansfield Award and two others who are too young this year but are keen for next year.
Thanks, once again.

Thank you for a wonderful opportunity for our students. My goal for the students was the exposure to positive role models and the hope that some of them might have been inspired. My theory is that if one or even two students come away with something positive then it was a success.
