On Wednesday 22 November between 11:30am–12:30pm, join our live videoconference with Te Papa Education | Te Ipu Kāhuirangi Programme Developer Tim McKellar.

Tangaroa’s Children: Conservation of our Rock Pools

Shell from a rock pool.

This is a fantastic opportunity to ask some questions of the Te Papa education team on the conservation of some of New Zealand’s unique creatures and what you can do to help them this summer.

Find out about:

  • The biology and physical attributes of these unique creatures
  • How they interact with their environment
  • How to identify different groups of species in the environment
  • Some customary practices of Mäori in ocean conservation
  • Some cool and gross facts about these special creatures
  • What you can do to protect and look after rock pool creatures this summer

Tim will also bring along some tactile items from Te Papa’s collection together with images of various creatures for identification. This should be a fun question and answer videoconference so make sure you register soon!

To register for this videoconference, email: digitalconversations@cwa.co.nz or telephone: (04) 382 6515 by Monday 20 November 2006
