On Thursday 17 August between 11:30am–12:30pm, join our live videoconference:
Kererū Discovery Project

Come and join Dr Eric Dorfman and Emma Best from Te Papa to talk about how you can help populations of our beautiful native wood pigeon — the kererū right in your home or school.
Join in the discussion and learn how the Kererū Discovery Project’s (KDP) aim is to help kererū populations by improving New Zealand’s urban areas as natural habitat.
KDP is a partnership between Te Papa, Wellington Zoo, Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre (DoC) and Victoria University of Wellington.

Find out about:
- the kererū — our precious native wood pigeon, from the scientific and matauranga Māori perspectives
- the Kererū Discovery Project
- how you can help build kererū populations in urban areas throughout New Zealand
- what the KDP partners are offering teachers and students.
This video conference is suitable for both Primary and Secondary students. Eric and Emma look forward to your students questions during the video conference.
