About our Guests

Dr Anderson

.

Dr David Anderson

Dr Anderson has a background of environmental research, academic study, and practical experience. The substantial time he spent working in the petrochemical industry means he has a practical understanding of the scientific and technical aspects of the environmental debate. In addition, his focus during the past 12 years as an academic and researcher has been on how the increasing consumption of energy can be reconciled with sustainable development.

Dr Anderson’s areas of particular interest include:

  • The complement of instruments for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and their respective equity, effectiveness, and efficiency;
  • The potential of, and obstacles to, renewable energy options in the UK.
  • Issues of transport and climate change - particularly in relation to aviation (freight and passenger).
  • Electricity supply and demand, with respect to environmental, economic, and technical concerns.
