Introduction

This website has been developed by the e-learning team of Te Kete Ipurangi to explore the theme of "How do we cool the Greenhouse" and to support a videoconference held between visiting scientist Dr Larry Cope and Dr Kevin Anderson and the following Kaupapa Ara Whakawhiti Matauranga schools:

Who are Dr Larry Parker and Dr Kevin Anderson?
Dr Larry Parker is a specialist in Energy and Environmental Policy with the Congressional Research Service (CRS) of the Library of Congress.

Dr Kevin Anderson is Senior Research Fellow at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

Both are visiting New Zealand between 513 August 2002 as part of the Masterclass! Science series. Their programme includes seminars aimed at government and business sectors, talks at universities, and sessions open to the public.

The videoconference
The 60-minute videoconference, a full recording of which can be viewed online in streaming video format, took place on Tuesday, 6 August 2002.
