Introduction

This website has been developed by the e-learning team of Te Kete Ipurangi to explore the theme of Climate Change and to support a videoconference held between visiting scientist Dr Robert Watson and the following Kaupapa Ara Whakawhiti Matauranga schools:

  • Te Waha-O-Rerekohu Area School, Te Araroa

Who is Dr Watson?
Dr Robert Watson is the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and is a Senior Spokesperson on Global Warming and Climate Change for the World Bank.

He visited New Zealand between 18-22 February, and while here gave talks and attended meetings with various groups to discuss climate change and global warming.

The videoconference
The 90-minute videoconference, a full recording of which can be viewed online in streaming video format, took place on Thursday, 21 February 2002.
